Who we are
Motorwise is operated by Motorwise LLC, a company registered in Vanuatu. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through this website.
Motorwise provides access to official vehicle data from government sources including the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

UK representative
As Motorwise LLC is established outside the UK but offers services to UK residents, we are in the process of appointing a UK representative under Article 27 of UK GDPR. This section will be updated once a representative has been appointed. In the meantime, please direct any enquiries to support@motorwise.io.

- provide the vehicle checking service
- process payments for premium features

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including:

- regular security assessments
- access controls and staff training
- secure payment processing through Stripe
International data transfers
Some of the third-party services we use may transfer your personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.
- Google Analytics: Data may be processed in the United States. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and applies Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as safeguards for international transfers.
- Stripe: Payment data may be processed in the United States. Stripe applies Standard Contractual Clauses and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Motorwise LLC is itself established in Vanuatu. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure your data is protected to UK GDPR standards regardless of where it is processed.
How long we keep information
We keep your personal information for:
- Search history: up to 12 months
- Payment records: 7 years for tax purposes
- Analytics data: 26 months (Google Analytics default)
- Contact enquiries: 2 years
Your rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- access to your personal information
- correction of inaccurate information
- deletion of your information
- objection to processing
- data portability

Right to complain
