Loud screaming noises from engine area
Rubber intercooler hose from turbocharger (TC) outlet pipe rubs against top engine acoustic cover, causing hose to split Fig.102073 . Fix: fit a new part.
Overview
- Affects
- All models, →VIN SHHCF15200U006108.
- Remedy
- Fit new part
Symptoms
Lack of power.
Repair steps
- Increase the clearance between the rubber hose and the engine acoustic cover.
- Remove top engine acoustic cover.
- Remove damaged rubber intercooler hose.
- Remove metal TC outlet connecting pipe.
- Using a 6 mm rotary file rework the forward mounting stay on the connecting pipe. Apply black paint to reworked area to prevent corrosion.
- Refit the connecting pipe. When refitting the connecting pipe ensure that the pipe is held over towards the left side of the vehicle. Apply thread locking compound to the securing bolts before tightening.
- Fit new rubber intercooler hose, ensure that the securing clips on the top and bottom rubber hoses are located centrally between the pipe bulges.
- Refit top engine acoustic cover, ensure securing bolts only hand tight.

Frequently asked questions
What are the common faults with the Honda Accord 2.0 TDI?
This guide contains seven workshop bulletins for the Honda Accord 2.0 TDI. Of these, two concern the engine and fuel system and two the suspension and drivetrain. Symptoms, causes, repair steps and part numbers are shown where supplied.
Does every Honda Accord 2.0 TDI have these faults?
No. These are patterns documented across the model by workshops, not predictions for an individual vehicle. Where a fault applies only to certain vehicles or VIN ranges, that is listed with the fault.
Can I check for Honda Accord 2.0 TDI faults myself?
Many of them. The documented symptoms can be seen, heard or felt during a test drive.
